Pistol wins aren't enough as M80 fall 0-2 to MOUZ in ESL Pro League Season 24 opener

Facing a strong MOUZ in their opening series, M80 had their moments, but were ultimately unable to find success as they lost 0-2.

No player on M80 had more kills than deaths on either map, and the highest rating over the series was only 0.96 from Michael "Swisher" Schmid.

Unfortunately for them, MOUZ hit back with eight rounds in a row to remove that momentum entirely. M80 started the second half with the pistol and conversions to tie the score 8-8, but MOUZ were again superior in the full-buys to take Cache 13-9.

MOUZ picked Mirage, and M80 started up 4-0 again. Though MOUZ controlled the rest of the half, M80 still grabbed two more CT rounds to enter the next half tied 6-6.

MOUZ finally won a pistol and went flawless on their CT-side to take their pick 13-6.

Fictional bylines. Each take uses a line above and adds no facts.

The headline skips this: "Facing a strong MOUZ in their opening series, M80 had their moments, but were ultimately unable to find success as they lost 0-2." That is the reading I would argue. The rest of the card does not cancel it.
