Liquid beat Legacy to make 2-1 pool in Bucharest
Liquid continued their encouraging PGL Masters Bucharest campaign with a 2-0 win over Legacy (Ancient 13-10, Inferno 13-8) to qualify for the 2-1 pool. Meanwhile, Legacy are now one loss away from elimination and will need two straight victories to make the playoffs.

The match began on Ancient, where the Brazilian squad got off to a very slow start and found themselves 1-8 down.
That deficit proved too much to overcome for the Brazilians despite Liquid having some issues closing out the game, with Georgi "Jorko" Mitev leading his squad to a 13-10 victory with a 1.57 rating.
Next was Liquid 's pick of Inferno, where a cagy first half ended 6-6 as neither team was able to exert control.
JT finished the half on zero frags, but the South African found his fragging boots on the CT side of Banana and led his team's charge towards a comfortable 13-8 victory with 4 multi-kills and a 2.06 rating on the defense.
Despite Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski having a rough tournament, with a 0.87 rating over seven maps so far, Liquid have nonetheless defeated Legacy to improve their record to 2-1.

Winning both pistol rounds helped the North American team find and maintain their lead, which proved just a few rounds too large for Legacy to overcome in the 10-13 defeat.
Down 1-5 on Inferno, Liquid managed to tie the half 6-6 before debuting an electric CT side on their map pick. Five consecutive rounds put them one shy of matchpoint.
Ioannis 'Johnny' "JT" Theodosiou got them there with an impressive 3K, before Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa capped the 13-8 win with a 3K of his own.
Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo was crucial to success, coming up clutch in several key moments and ending the series on a server-high 1.28 rating and +4.96% round swing.
His patience allowed him to catch Liquid off-guard in a 1v2 clutch on the opening Anubis, and he went on to rack up 14 kills and +20% swing over the second half to spearhead Aurora 's 13-11 win.
Liquid then pulled off a superb comeback from down 4-10 on Inferno with an indomitable defense, but could not complete the job despite finding themselves up 10-8 on the Cache decider.
Jimpphat saved Aurora in two consecutive rounds with more patient play in a 1v2 situation and great AWPing when down in numbers in defense of B, before adding another big double-kill anchoring the same bombsite on the way to a 13-10 win.
Also read: Liquid score another upset and take down Legacy in Bucharest The first half of Anubis ended 6-6 after Liquid and Aurora traded multi-round streaks. Inevitably deadlocked at 11-11, Aurora pulled ahead to take their opening map pick 13-11.
Although Liquid lost, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski's 20-kill showing was a good sign for the North Americans headed into Inferno. An eight-round streak on the second map gave Aurora an 8-4 lead at the half.
Down 10-4 after losing the pistol round, Liquid completed their own eight-round streak on the CT side, and the duo of EliGE and Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa converted a 2v3 scenario to win their map pick 13-11.
The deciding map would remain just as closely contested as the previous two. Cache's first half saw yet another tie at 6-6, highlighted by a clutch round nine defuse from Georgi "Jorko" Mitev.
However, five consecutive CT round wins to end the game took Aurora from an 8-10 deficit to a 13-10 victory and series win. Also read: Liquid go 1-1 in PGL Masters Bucharest after loss to FUT
Opinion
Fictional bylines. Each take uses a line above and adds no facts.
Team Liquid can stand on this line: "The match began on Ancient, where the Brazilian squad got off to a very slow start and found themselves 1-8 down." It is already on the card, so the case does not need a streak or a roster rumor.

The headline skips this: "The match began on Ancient, where the Brazilian squad got off to a very slow start and found themselves 1-8 down." That is the reading I would argue. The rest of the card does not cancel it.
