In the upper bracket, Overtake Sector bested Villainous 2-1 to advance to the semifinals. Connor "Jolts" Haines's 1v3 in round 15 was a key moment in their victory.
Looking to close the series quickly, Villainous jumped to a 9-3 lead, but Overtake Sector's defense did one-round better. Jason "jason" Garcia led the half with a 1.74 rating to help tie the series 1-1.
A five-round streak on Dust2's CT side gave Overtake Sector a 12-8 lead on matchpoint, and Umar "Umar" Qaiser put a bow on the match with a 3K, which made him the lobby's kill leader for the deciding map.
Aided by a clutch 4K defuse by Andrew "Kermi" Cretella, NuTorious rebounded with a dominant 13-4 win on their map pick of Mirage, leaving the series up to Cache.
The final map saw NuTorious gain a 9-0 lead on their CT side, as Gavin 'Fruitcupx' Norman went 18-4 for a 2.79 rating in the first half alone.
While Marca Registrada were able to muster five rounds in the second, it was too late to prevent NuTorious' 13-7 victory.
