The defeat leaves Aurora in 9-12th place after their victory over G2 offered a brief reprieve from an opening loss to Liquid .

Having reached three semi-finals at StarSeries, ESL Pro League and Thunderpick, they have now followed a quarter-final exit in Bucharest with a group-stage elimination in Beijing.

Both maps followed the same pattern, with BETBOOM lead 8-4 halftime before allowing their opponents just one round after the switch.

Kirill "Magnojez" Rodnov led the series with 35 kills and a 1.70 rating, closely supported by Daniil "d1Ledez" Kustov 's 1.59, while Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov topped the scoreboard on Aurora's Cache pick with a 1.90 rating.

BETBOOM will face Liquid later today for the final Group B playoff berth. Aurora , meanwhile, have almost a month before their Singapore Major campaign begins in Stage 3.

Opinion

Fictional bylines. Each take uses a line above and adds no facts.

Team Liquid can stand on this line: "The defeat leaves Aurora in 9-12th place after their victory over G2 offered a brief reprieve from an opening loss to Liquid ." It is already on the card, so the case does not need a streak or a roster rumor.

The headline skips this: "The defeat leaves Aurora in 9-12th place after their victory over G2 offered a brief reprieve from an opening loss to Liquid ." That is the reading I would argue. The rest of the card does not cancel it.
