A missing CT spawn point was restored for Competitive matches, while additional T spawn locations were added. If you are getting back into the map, check our CS2 Cache callouts guide for the key positions and callout names.

Map Scripting CSPlayerCamera has been renamed to CustomPlayerCamera , with new functions for controlling camera modes, player tracking, and follow behavior. Custom HUDs can now react more reliably to spectator changes and detect when the buy menu or scoreboard is open.

Scripted HUD elements will also render above the standard CS2 HUD. Demo Files Valve also changed how chat is handled in recorded matches.

Team chat is no longer readable during normal demo playback, while global chat is only available when the demo is opened through CS2’s in-game Watch interface. For more on recording and reviewing matches, see our guide on how to watch demos in CS2 .

August 25, 2026 The latest CS2 update is focused almost entirely on map scripting, adding new tools for custom interfaces, player cameras, movement control, and bomb interaction.

Custom HUDs: Added the custom_hud_layout entity, allowing scripted maps to create custom UI elements such as panels, labels, images, and buttons.
