BLAST announces USA as host for September Open Premier event
BLAST has revealed that the third Open Premier event of 2027 will be taking place in the United States of America.

Occupying the slot previously thought to be for a BLAST Bounty event, the tournament will run from September 3rd to 12th as 16 teams compete for the $1.25 million prize pool.
Running entirely on LAN from a TBA city in the USA, the group stage will use a Swiss system for the first time in BLAST's history, in contrast to their usual double-elimination brackets.
The eight teams that make it through will fight it out in a single-elimination playoff bracket played out in an arena over the last three days of the event.
Eleven of the 16 teams will be directly invited based on their place on the May 2027 Global VRS.
The other five will come from regional closed qualifiers that will give one slot to Europe, Asia, and South America, as well as two slots for North America as the host region.
Each closed qualifier will have eight teams, with four being invited from the VRS while the other four come from open qualifiers.
