Liquid dominate Wildcard to secure first LAN trophy in nine years at FML 2

While Liquid came into the LAN as the clear favorites the win is still an important milestone for the organization as it represents their first LAN trophy in CS2 since 2019 during the halcyon days of the Intel Grand Slam 2 squad.

In playoffs Liquid faced off against M80, starting things off with a close 16-13 win on Cache before cruising to a 13-2 victory on Anubis. With their path to the grand finals secure, Liquid proved the far better team on the server against Wildcard.

Inferno started with Liquid taking a 10-2 lead on their CT-side before taking the map 13-3.

On Anubis Liquid then locked down an 8-4 T-side and despite Wildcard trying to mount an effective defense after switching sides it was too little too late as Liquid powered to a 13-9 win.

The result marks Liquid 's first offline win since 2022, when they claimed first place in the IEM Road to Rio qualifier on LAN, but their first trophy since 2019, when they went on a dominant run of five tier one LAN wins in a row.

Throughout their campaign Liquid were only once in serious danger of losing a map, cruising past Chicken Coop and NRG in the group stage before M80 gave them their closest run of the tournament in the first map of the semi-finals.

With their victory Liquid continue on the track to qualification for PGL Singapore Major, and whilst Wildcard 's chances are slimmer, they also took strides towards earning a spot.
