Strike #11: Another loophole bites the dust... or does it?

PGL Major Singapore 2026 Strike #11: Another loophole bites the dust... But were they right to step in, and was it the best solution?

'Strike' is a (not so) regular column written by HLTV Editor-in-chief Milan "Striker" Švejda, which mainly focuses on new realities of a Valve-regulated circuit.

Over the past week, Major qualification buzz has once again taken center stage with just a few weeks remaining before the all-important PGL Singapore invite deadline hits.

But instead of the potential elimination of two of the world's most popular teams, the biggest point of discussion has had little to do with the actual results.

It was several teams' attempt to avoid that war altogether and seek a much easier path to the season-ending event as WW , BC.Game and Sashi switched regions from Europe to Asia at the last moment.

That was met with a swift response from Valve, who saw the proverbial floodgates open and decided to close them shut, only to leave a BC.Game-sized sliver open afterwards. I, the devil's advocate by nature, sit firmly in the middle.

I wasn't surprised to see sudden action being taken, or the fashion in which it was.
