Media: Astralis target siuhy as contract expiration nears for HooXi

Astralis likely hope that two changes will be enough to keep Staehr on side and willing to sign a new contract.

After a difficult start to the year, Astralis have had a strong fall, with the team all but confirming their spot at the PGL Singapore Major following a win at Stake Ranked Episode 4 and a top-four finish at Stake Pulse Beat II.

The decision to target siuhy comes as something of a surprise after a difficult tenure at Liquid for the Polish IGL, with questions being raised about his leadership while siuhy posted a 0.87 rating over 185 maps at Liquid.

With the player heading into free agency this week, joining Astralis could be a chance for siuhy to reinvent himself and put Liquid behind him as players like Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis have famously done in the past.

However, cmtry will not be playing his usual role as KRL claimed that the Ukrainian will serve as a rifler on Astralis despite being best known for his play on the AWP.

cmtry has been on the bench since October 1st when he was replaced on FUT by former G2 AWPer Álvaro "SunPayus" García.

The change came after a pronounced slump in form, with cmtry averaging a 0.96 rating over the past three months and a 0.93 rating since the IEM Cologne Major.

It is unknown how he will perform as a rifler as he last played as a secondary AWPer/rifler back in 2023 on NAVI Youth.
