FURIA have Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis to thank for their victory — the Latvian averaged a 1.56 rating across the grand final and topped the board on three of the five maps. Don't expect this every tournament," YEKINDAR told James "BanKs" Banks about his fantastic performance.

The victory is FURIA 's second consecutive title after the Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo -led team won Thunderpick World Championship less than a fortnight ago in what seems to be a peak in form just at the right time.

Their busy schedule during FalleN 's farewell tour isn't stopping either, as the team now makes the flight to Asia to compete in IEM Beijing and BLAST Rivals S2. The series began on Ancient, where FURIA were in for a rude awakening.

Nemiga dominated from start to finish to secure a one-sided 13-2 victory, with YEKINDAR (1.57 map rating, 0.74 ahead of his closest teammate) the only FURIA member to provide any sort of resistance.

The tables turned on map two, as FURIA were the ones dominating on their way to a 13-5 victory despite losing both pistols.

While it once seemed that Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's final year competing in Counter-Strike would end without any trophies, FURIA are finishing the season strong.

By this point, Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis was his team's top achiever on both maps. With at least two more to go in the best-of-five series, FURIA took cache 13-2, where IGL FalleN boasted a 17-6 KD and 2.11 rating.

Mirage was the closest map of the series, as FURIA nearly overcame a 3-9 deficit to force overtime in the 11-13 loss.

The deciding map of Nuke saw FURIA's T side secure the title 13-6, with 11 of Danil "molodoy" Golubenko's 19 kills coming via the attack. YEKINDAR's 82 kills and 1.56 average rating over the series, however, netted the Latvian his first-ever MVP award.

YEKINDAR was once again the star for his team, while Beksultan "khaN" Ospan (1.65 map rating) was the lone member of Nemiga to keep up the level from Ancient.

Fictional bylines. Each take uses a line above and adds no facts.

FURIA can stand on this line: "FURIA have Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis to thank for their victory — the Latvian averaged a 1.56 rating across the grand final and topped the board on three of the five maps. D…" It is already on the card, so the case does not need a streak or a roster rumor.
