Effective immediately, Valve updates Major rulebook to make region swapping more difficult
They added a rule that prohibits rosters from being invited from a specific regional ranking if they appeared in other regions in the last three months. BC.Game did the same several weeks ago, with both squads switching regions from Europe to Asia.

Liquid also utilized this strategy in March, swapping Guy "NertZ" Iluz out for Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa to get an IEM Cologne 2026 invite from the Americas ranking.
Attempts from teams to swap regions close to the deadline have been highly criticized by many players, talent, and organizations as they take spots from teams who spent the entire season playing for that region.
The new rule would mean that if teams want to be on another ranking for invites, they must commit to it earlier in the season. https://x.com/Nohte/status/2107517572107378871 Also read: Stewie2K, Without a Roof crack Top 100 in the VRS
