CS2 Rush Hour Update (September 22, 2026): Rush Mode, Silent Reloads, Premier Map Picks and Clan Tags
There is also something the changelog does not mention at all. Players opened their Weekly Drops after the patch and found chicken eggs. We cover that separately in our CS2 chicken eggs and pets article , because it deserves its own piece.

This article covers everything Valve actually wrote down, plus the two things many players were hoping to see and did not. If any of these changes make you want to reshuffle your inventory, you can trade CS2 skins on SkinsMonkey at any time.
Key takeaways: Rush is a new queued 3v3 mode where teams fight through randomly selected battle arenas to reach the enemy castle. Premier map selection has been rebuilt: teams now pick four maps between them and the game randomly chooses one of them.
Holding the reload key performs a slower, silent reload. Unscoping a sniper rifle no longer makes any sound. Crosshairs are now resolution independent, with a new settings tab and a new default called Dynamic Quad.
Clan Tags are back for members of Steam Community Groups, and stickers can now be applied to the C4. Danger Zone and a new anti-cheat engine are still nowhere in sight.
Rush: A New 3v3 Mode Built Around Speed Rush is the main addition in this update and the first new queued mode since Retakes returned in October 2025. It is a 3v3 format played on small arenas rather than the standard competitive maps.
Here is how a match works, according to Valve's own description: Each match is played across a series of small battle arenas, selected at random every time you queue.
