With Valve confirming to HLTV that this change goes into effect immediately, it effectively bars BC.Game, Sashi, and WW from qualifying to the PGL Singapore Major. Lemke, Valve explicitly made this change in reaction to Sashi's moves yesterday.

Sashi's last-minute attempt to claim one of the five Asian spots at the PGL Singapore Major was heavily criticized, with many decrying the move as cynically opportunistic and damaging to teams that actually compete in the Asian region.
Valve seemingly agrees, with this move signaling their desire to only teams to qualify to Majors from a region if they host a squad long-term in the region. https://x.com/TomJangLemke/status/2107526119142396112?s=20 Also read: Stewie2K, Without a Roof crack Top 100 in the VRS
